DOYLESTOWN BOROUGH, PA — Doylestown Borough this week inked an agreement with Stage United and local concert promoter Joe Montone to bring two live concerts to Broad Commons Park this spring.

Under the agreement, Montone and Stage United "will develop a lineup of two exciting concerts" on two dates to be determined in May and will manage all aspects of the productions, including lighting, staging, sound, marketing, setup, and takedown.

In addition, Stage United will assist in planning any additional features such as food vendors, interactive zones for children, artist or informational vendor tabling, and sponsor experience for the event.

"Joe is very familiar with the music scene so we're definitely leaning on him for his expertise. The plan is to hold two concerts this May. My hope is that in subsequent years we can fill the summer with more," said Caitlin Hernandez, the borough's Director of Parks and Recreation

Montone, who organizes the nearby Abington Art Series, launched Stage United last year to create a more sustainable live music scene in his hometown of Doylestown by booking dynamic, diverse bills at new and exciting venues around town that bring the artists closer to the people.

Montone is also the idea man behind "Picnics On Pine," a summer series of outdoor concerts in Doylestown Borough, and more recently "A Night of Song," a three concert series being held inside the Big Room at the Tile Works.

Through Stage United, Montone is seeking to elevate the local music scene by providing greater access to live music in Doylestown and beyond.

According to the agreement, the goal of the new concert events "is to activate Broad Commons Park as a unique gathering place while showcasing local food, artists, and vendors. Performing artists would all be located within the tri-state area, emphasizing Bucks County and Philadelphia."
