Doylestown Man Broke Into Room, Touched Woman As She Slept: Cops

PLUMSTEAD TOWNSHIP, PA — A 61-year-old Doylestown man is facing charges of burglary, indecent assault, and criminal trespassing after police said he inappropriately touched a woman as she slept in Plumstead Township.

The woman told police the man, who she did not previously know, entered her room in a residence along the 1000 block of N. Easton Road on Friday evening. The woman was sleeping and awoke to the man, later identified as Mark Butler, touching her inappropriately, police said.

Butler was observed by witnesses peering into the woman’s room and pulling on several room doors, police said.

He was taken into custody on July 4 and is charged with one count of burglary, one count of criminal trespass, one count of indecent assault, one count of loitering and prowling at night and disorderly conduct.

Butler was arraigned and his bail was set at $75,000. He is currently being held at the Bucks County Correctional Facility, where he is awaiting his preliminary hearing.
