Naked, Head-Gnawing Attack Gets Doylestown Man At Least 90 Days

A Doylestown man who stripped naked and attacked two women in northern Pennsylvania will spend between 90 days and 23 and-a-half months in Wayne County prison following a sentencing hearing Friday in Honesdale, according to The Scranton Times-Tribune.

Richard Cimino Jr., 20, pled guilty in March to five counts, including one count of simple assault, two counts of indecent exposure, one count of criminal mischief and one count of terroristic threats. The Times-Tribune reports that the CB East grad will receive 29 days credit to his sentence for spending one day in county prison and 28 days in a treatment facility.

The sentencing brings an end to the strange incident that started on Sept. 7, 2011, in the town of Hawley in northern Pennsylvania. Early that morning, Cimino parked his car, stripped down to his underwear and began wandering around the small town, reports say.

According to police reports, he eventually removed the underwear and broke into a home on Hudson Street and jumped out of a second floor window. With injuries to his arms and legs, he then encountered two borough women, Ann Monaghan and Nancy Dean-Corino, tackled one of the women to the ground and began to "gnaw at (her) head, screaming like an animal," according to the police report.

The Times-Tribune says that Cimino was under the influence of O-Acetylpsilocin, a synthetic hallucinogenic drug, at the time of the attack. At the sentencing hearing, Cimino apologized for his actions in a prepared statement and said the incident served as a "pivotal point" for him to overcome his drug abuse, the paper reports.
