Doylestown’s Cyborg One To Celebrate Free Comic Book Day 2021

Free Comic Book Day was canceled last year due to the coronavirus pandemic. Now it's back — just in time for its 20th anniversary.

DOYLESTOWN, PA — Free Comic Book Day is back for 2021 after being canceled last year due to the coronavirus pandemic, And a local comic shop in Doylestown plans to join the festivities Saturday.

Cyborg One is among thousands of stores across the U.S. that are set to participate in Free Comic Book Day 2021.

The shop, located at 44 E. State St. in Doylestown, will be open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and is offering 15 percent off comics and graphic novels, as well as “free stuff while supplies last.”

Normally held on the first Saturday in May, this year's Free Comic Book Day marks the 20th anniversary of the now-ubiquitous event, which strives to raise awareness about the medium and bring new fans into the fold.

A committee of comic shop retailers chose 50 titles to be available on Free Comic Book Day: 12 Gold Sponsor comics and 38 Silver Sponsor comics. See the full list here.

"Every year, we strive to bring fans a memorable Free Comic Book Day experience, and with this year being our 20th anniversary, we hope it will be the best yet," spokesperson Ashton Greenwood said.

"The variety of this year's comic book selection is really exciting," Greenwood added. "There's something for every kind of fan, from the long-time reader to the comic book-curious. We know comic book retailers are looking forward to treating everyone to a day of fun and discovery, so we hope fans will be able to safely visit their comic shops to celebrate."
