Doylestown Township Issues Drought Emergency Declaration
Due to ongoing drought conditions, mandatory restrictions on water usage for DTMA customers are now in place.

DOYLESTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — The Doylestown Township Municipal Authority has issued a Drought Emergency Declaration and has instituted mandatory water conservation measures for its customers.
"Due to the unprecedented duration of drought conditions, DTMA groundwater levels continue to decline," said the water authority. "The latest Department of Environmental Protection drought indicator status benchmarks and the conditions in the DTMA Drought Contingency Plan require a drought emergency to be declared."
The measures enacted during this drought emergency include the following:

- Irrigation and watering of lawns is prohibited.
- Washing of cars is prohibited except for commercial businesses with recycled water.
- Fifteen percent to twenty percent reduction in household water usage.
- The serving of water at restaurants is prohibited unless requested by the customer.
"The DTMA realizes the significance of these requirements and appreciates our customers' cooperation. While these actions on an individual basis may seem insignificant, collectively we can all help to protect our water supply," said the authority.
