The high-end fried chicken restaurant has plans to open a second location in Bucks County.

DOYLESTOWN, PA — Lovebird, a high-end fried chicken eatery with a location on Oakland Avenue in Doylestown, has plans to expand in Bucks County.
Newtown Township this week granted a certificate of appropriateness for Lovebird to open a location along Sycamore Street. Lovebird received its approval for a sign and ductwork for the location at 247 N. Sycamore Street.
The business is expected to open in early 2020 next to Greenstraw in the storefront that is now Knitting To Know Ewe.

In addition to the Doylestown store, Lovebird operates a restaurant in Bryn Mawr. The menu at its existing locations includes fried chicken, chicken sandwiches, salads and bowls. There are also sides, including hand-cut fries, mac and cheese, slaw and more.
The restaurant is created by John Ordway, the founder of Jules Thin Crust. Ordway said he received input from customers asking him to open a Lovebird location in Newtown.

He explained Lovebird offers "high end fried chicken" sourced from a specific Amish farm in Western Pennsylvania. "You can really taste the difference," he said of the chicken.
He noted his goal is to open by early 2020, but it is contingent on the space being ready.
