Factory Donuts Closes Doylestown Shop For Good

DOYLESTOWN, PA — Factory Donuts, a made-to-order donut shop with a location in Newtown, is closing its Doylestown store mere months after its debut. The store had been shut in mid-March due to the state shutdowns over the coronavirus pandemic. It will not reopen once restrictions are lifted, Doylestown franchise owner Joseph Cremin said.

The announcement was made Thursday. Cremin, in a follow up message to Patch, said as of now there is not a new franchise owner taking over the location at the Cross Keys Shopping Center.

"It's with great sadness that we must announce that we will not be reopening our store," the business announced on Facebook.

The Doylestown location, which opened in November, was the fourth shop for Factory Donuts.

"Since we closed more than 22 million people are out of work and there is no telling when things will go back to normal. We took out a large loan to pay for the construction and equipment for the store and risked our home, life savings, kids tuition in order to be successful. Unfortunately this was not meant to be. I truly believe that everything happens for a reason and there are others out there in worse shape then us," Cremin wrote in his farewell to the Doylestown community.

"As the nation will eventually recover, we will as well. To those who worked for us, thank you. As I told them during orientation what ever goals you set for yourself, keep driving towards them. It may take time to get there and like what is happening now, there will be speed bumps throughout, but never lose focus on the ultimate goal," Cremin wrote on the business' Facebook page.
