Family Singalong and Used Book Sale at Highland Farm
Events for the whole family the weekend of May 31-June 1
The Oscar Hammerstein Museum & Theatre Education Center will be offering exciting events for the whole family the weekend of May 31 – June 1, 2025 at Highland Farm in Doylestown.
Saturday, May 31 will be “Oh, what a beautiful mornin’” for kids and their grownups to color, dance, and learn Oscar’s lyrics in his home! The “Younger Than Springtime” Family Singalong is geared for youngsters ages 4-8 but all are welcome to attend. Between coloring and getting their faces painted, kids will learn songs from The Sound of Music, Oklahoma!, The King and I, and more in the Doylestown house where the lyrics were written. Families may pay what they want – donations of $15 per adult are recommended. Reservations are required: visit HammersteinMuseum.org to book.
On Sunday, June 1, June will be Bustin’ Out with tours and a used book sale! After a tour of Oscar’s home at Highland Farm, visitors can leave with a sack full of books to bring to their home libraries. Bring your own bag or purchase a Hammerstein Museum souvenir tote bag. The Oscar Hammerstein Museum and Theatre Education Center (OHMTEC) is a non-profit dedicated to the preservation of Oscar Hammerstein II's Doylestown home and telling the story of his legacy as a librettist, lyricist, humanitarian and mentor. Tours will include stories about Oscar Hammerstein's musical family, how his ground-breaking musicals forever changed the modern-day book-musical, and additional insight into his contributions to society through his many humanitarian acts.
