Fanny Chapman Memorial Pool has given an update on the pool's status amid the coronavirus pandemic.
DOYLESTOWN, PA — Fanny Chapman Memorial Pool has given an update on the pool's status amid the coronavirus pandemic.
The pool's board of managers said in an update Friday, they're moving forward with a May 23 opening, pending approval by the governor. "We will continue to monitor guidance regarding public/outdoor pools and gatherings of people," the notice said.
If that date isn't permitted, opening day will be the Saturday following the announced “right to open.” If opening happens between May 23 and June 5, there will be no proration of membership fees. But if the pool opens after June 6, fees will be prorated based on the remaining number of weeks in the season.

The board also decided to extend the membership discount period through May 23. Anyone who has registered for membership or swim lessons and teams can get a full refund upon request, if the request is submitted by email to the pool manager prior to the opening day of the season.
In the event that the pool is not allowed to open for the 2020 season, members will get a full refund of their membership fees or a credit towards their 2021 membership.
