Fire Claims Jimcor Concrete Building In Plumstead

The cause of the fire that ripped through the building early Sunday morning remains unclear.

PLUMSTEAD TOWNSHIP, PA — A fire ripped through a building on Old Easton Road early Sunday morning, sending one firefighter to the hospital.

At 12:19 a.m. Sunday, the Plumstead Volunteer Fire Company was dispatched to a reported fire at the Jimcor Concrete building at 5519 Old Easton Road. Firefighters arrived to find an office space and two-car attached garage belonging to Jimcor Concrete up in flames.

Due to limited water supply in the area, Plumstead firefighters had to rely on tankers from neighboring fire departments.

The fire was under control by about 1:45 a.m. Two firefighters were medically evaluated at the scene due to smoke inhalation, with one transported to Doylestown Hospital for treatment before being released.

The Bucks County Fire Marshall is investigating the cause of the fire.
