Fire Rips Through Storage Barn In Upper Bucks County
Firefighters from more than a dozen companies were called in to help fight the blaze, which destroyed the barn on Thatcher Road.

RICHLANDTOWN, PA — Fire ripped through an Upper Bucks County barn early Thursday morning in the 400 block of Thatcher Road.
Upon arrival, Richlandtown Fire Chief 36 confirmed a 40 by 40 barn to be fully involved and upgraded the assignment with a tanker task force. Engine 36 arrived first, laying 1000 feet of hose line while Tanker 36 arrived next for fire suppression.

Mutual aid companies assisted with setting up water supply on Thatcher Road while Engine 36-1 set up a fill site on Union Road at a hydrant. An hour later the fire was placed under control.

Due to the amount of items stored inside the barn a small excavator was called to the scene to help with overhaul operations. Crews remained on scene for an extended period of time before returning to their respective stations at 10 a.m.
Assisting Richlandtown with the call were Haycock Fire Company No. 1, Quakertown Fire Company No. 1, West End Fire Company (Quakertown), Milford Township Volunteer Fire Company No. 1, Trumbauersville Fire Company, Richland Township Fire & Rescue, Palisades Regional Fire Rescue, PRFR Station 40 Springtown, Dublin Volunteer Fire Company, Pennsburg Volunteer Fire Company, Lower Saucon Fire Rescue, Dewey Fire Company No. 1, and the Richland Township Water Authority.
