Firefighters Handle Smoky Chimney Fire In Buckingham
Crews from Engine 15 and Engine 19 arrived and went to work, opening up a wall and ceiling to reveal the source of the fire.

BUCKINGHAM TOWNSHIP, PA — Firefighters quickly extinguished a chimney fire Wednesday night inside the walls of a home in the 4900 block of Edgewood Road.
Crews from the Midway Volunteer Fire Department were dispatched at 9:14 p.m. for a reported dwelling fire. Chief 5 responded immediately and met up with the homeowner who was
reporting heavy smoke conditions inside the house.
Using a thermal imaging camera, fire was located in the wall above a fireplace.

Crews from Engine 15 and Engine 19 arrived and went to work opening up the wall and ceiling to reveal the source of the fire.
Crew members from Ladder 5 were instructed to cut through the floor to create an additional access point and search for and extinguish any extension.

Throughout the event, crews were careful to minimize additional damage to the home and ventilation fans were employed to remove the smokey conditions.
Fire police officers from Station 5 and 19 secured the scene from vehicular traffic. Also responding from Midway were Tanker 5, Engine 5 and Engine 15-1 whose crew was prepared to respond in the event of an additional emergency call.
Responding with Midway were Doylestown Fire Company No. 1, Point Pleasant Vol. Fire Co., Central Bucks Emergency Medical Services, Buckingham Township Police Department and Fire Marshal.
