Firefighters Respond To Smoky Conditions At Doylestown Pet Shop, Auto Extrication

DOYLESTOWN, PA — The Doylestown Fire Company No. 1 spent a busy Wednesday morning answering calls.

At 8:39 a.m., the company responded to the Doylestown Shopping Center for smoky conditions inside the Pet Supplies Store at 464 North Main Street.

Engine 19 (duty crew) and Tower 79 were assisted by Midway Volunteer Fire Company and Rescue 66 from Warwick Township Fire Company No. 1.

Firefighters said crews found a burnt belt on a rooftop HVAC unit. The store was ventilated and turned over to maintenance.

The company reminds residential and commercial customers to have their HVAC systems serviced as they work overtime during extreme weather conditions.

At 11:39 a.m., the company responded to an automobile extrication at the intersection of Easton Road and Curly Hill Road in Plumstead Township. The two-vehicle crash involved a Verizon work van and a minivan.

The company assisted the Plumsteadville Fire Company as needed.

It was not immediately known whether anyone was injured in the accident.
