BUCKS COUNTY, PA — Incumbent Republican Brian Fitzpatrick has won reelection to Congress in Pennsylvania's 1st District, which includes Bucks County and 10 municipalities along the eastern border of Montgomery County.
Fitzpatrick, who was first elected to Congress in 2018, declared victory early Tuesday morning after the Associated Press projected him to be the winner in his race against Democratic challenger Ashley Ehasz of Bensalem, a West Point graduate, U.S. Army veteran, and former Apache helicopter pilot.
This was the second time Fitzpatrick faced a challenge from Ehasz, who ran against the incumbent Republican two years ago. Fitzpatrick won re-election that year collecting 54.9 percent of the vote with Ehasz receiving 45.1 percent.

"It's a dark morning in America, and Brian Fitzpatrick has a responsibility to stand up for our democracy and the hundreds of thousands of women he represents to protect our freedoms. As a combat veteran who put my life on the line for our country, I will always fight for our democracy and to secure equal rights for all of us."
The Fitzpatrick campaign released the following statement early Wednesday morning thanking the voters of the 1st Congressional District for a "resounding victory.
“Thank you to our amazing community for once again affirming, in incredibly overwhelming numbers, our values of unity, bipartisanship and independence, and rejecting the hate speech of those who seek to divide us," said Fitzpatrick. "I will continue to work tirelessly to represent all of us, our one community, as a bridge-builder, well into the future as the No. 1 Most Independent Member of Congress, as we seek to build consensus and collaboration, while consistently exposing the forces that seek to divide our community. We are so lucky to live in the most vibrant community in America, one that I’ve been so proud to call home for my entire life."
Fitzpatrick continued, "As we move forward together into the 119th Congress and beyond, I’m asking all in our community to join me in leading our People’s Movement of bipartisanship and center-forward problem solving, and fighting against the bigotry of hyper-partisanship and extremist ideological purity that is dividing our community and destroying our nation.
"Our People’s Movement is about building bridges at a time when too many are trying to burn them," Fitzpatrick continued. "Our People’s Movement is about listening more than lecturing, viewing diversity of thought as a strength to be harnessed, not a weakness to be criticized. Our People’s Movement is about building consensus in the center and moving forward to save our nation.
"Our community needs you," he said. "Our nation needs you. I’m asking you to join me. Because we need to be one community, now more than ever.”
Pennsylvania's 1st Congressional District includes all of Bucks County and 10 municipalities along the eastern border of Montgomery County including Horsham, Montgomery Township, Telford, Souderton, Franconia, Hatfield Township, Hatfield Borough, Salford, Marlborough and Upper Hanover.
