BUCKS COUNTY, PA — This weekend brings tons of fun to Bucks County, from the popular Shady Brook Holiday Light Show to a brand new production on stage at the Bucks County Playhouse - "Anastasia - The Musical."

The weekend also offers an opportunity to experience an amazing collection of gingerbread creations at Peddler's Village and to get some holiday shopping done with visits to a Handweavers Show in Buckingham and a Fine Craft Show in Lower Makefield.

You also don't want to miss the many local markets and craft fairs taking place throughout the county including a craft sale on Saturday in Newtown Township and a Holiday Market at Central Bucks South High School in Warrington.

Shady Brook To Turn On Millions Of Dazzling Lights

It might be the show of shows in Bucks County. The annual Shady Brook Farm Holiday Light Show starts Saturday and will feature "millions of dazzling lights" that can be seen via a vehicle drive-through, a wagon ride, and even a private wagon ride. The experience includes three million lights illuminating acres of farmland at 931 Stony Hill Road in Lower Makefield. The drive-thru opens Saturday and is open nightly through Jan 7, then Friday and Saturday until Jan. 5. Read More

"Anastasia - The Musical" Opens At Playhouse

This holiday season, audiences are invited to take a journey to the past — stopping in Belle Epoque Paris and beyond — as Bucks County Playhouse debuts an all-new production of “Anastasia: The Musical,” Nov. 22 through Jan. 5. From the Tony Award-winning creators of the Ragtime,” the show transports audiences from the twilight of the Russian Empire to the euphoria of Paris in the 1920s, as a brave young woman sets out to discover the mystery of her past. Also this weekend, the Playhouse will host a Props and Frocks Rummage Sale on Saturday, Nov. 23 from 10 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 24 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The sale features a variety of clothing and accessories for all genders and all ages — pulled from the Playhouse’s costume collection.

Gingerbread Creations On Display At Peddler's Village

Gingerbread Houses are on display from now through Jan. 19 at Peddler's Village in Lahaska. A holiday tradition since 1984, the annual Gingerbread Competition & Display features more than 100 festive gingerbread creations crafted by the public. The exhibit is on display at the Visitor & Event Center and will be open during shopping hours. Free admission. Read More.

Handweavers Show and Sale in Buckingham

The Handweavers Guild of Bucks County presents its annual show and sale this weekend at Trinity Church of Buckingham, 2631 Durham Road, Buckingham (at the intersection of Routes 413 and 202). Handwoven items made by guild members will be available for purchase on Friday, Nov. 22 from 5 to 8 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 23 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 24 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Proceeds benefit the Guild and its mission to further appreciation and understanding of hand weaving and its processes. For more than 70 years the Guild has supported weavers, spinners and other fiber-related artists.

AOY Art Center Presents Holiday Fine Craft Show

The AOY Art Center presents a two-day artisanal experience of holiday shopping from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 23 and Sunday, Nov. 24 at the Janney House on the Patterson Farm in Lower Makefield. The much-anticipated Fine Craft Show will feature unique, one-of-a-kind creations by AOY artisans. Attendees will receive complimentary door prize tickets, with additional chances available for purchase to win crafts from each artisan.
