DOYLESTOWN, PA — Following a unanimous endorsement from the Bucks County Democratic Committee, former county prosecutor, federal prosecutor, and county solicitor Joe Khan has formally announced his candidacy for Bucks County District Attorney.

“I am humbled by this overwhelming support from the Democratic Party, and I am honored to accept this endorsement,” said Khan. “Bucks County needs a DA who has a proven track record of fighting crime, corruption, and attacks on our rights. That’s what I’ve done for 25 years and that’s what I’ll do as our next district attorney.”

“Joe Khan has a strong and proven track record as a former Bucks County solicitor and county and federal prosecutor,” said State Senator and Bucks County Democratic Committee Chair Steve Santarsiero. “Bucks County deserves a district attorney who will fight to keep our community safe,
and Joe will do exactly that.”

After graduating from the University of Chicago Law School, Khan began his career prosecuting rape, child abuse, and domestic violence as an assistant district attorney in Philadelphia, where he convicted some of the city’s most notorious violent criminals. He then served the Eastern District of Pennsylvania as Assistant U.S. Attorney in the U.S. Attorney’s Office, prosecuting corrupt politicians and companies before taking on opioid distributors as a civil litigator.

In 2020, Khan was appointed Bucks County solicitor by a unanimous and bipartisan vote of the Bucks County Commissioners. He was later named Pennsylvania’s Government Lawyer of the Year and Outstanding County Solicitor for “redefining the role of county solicitor.”

Khan left his position as county solicitor to run for Pennsylvania Attorney General in 2024, losing the Democratic primary to former Auditor General Eugene DePasquale but winning Bucks County with over 60 percent of the vote in a five-way race.

Khan is a partner at Curtin & Heefner, where he co-chairs the firm’s appellate section and fights for voting and environmental rights. He lives with his children in Doylestown, where he has served as a Central Bucks School District volunteer and coach for youth sports.
