How To Help Fountainville Man Who Needs $200K Lifesaving Surgery
Steve Buczek is so sick that he's been unable to eat since July. A fundraiser to help him get the treatment he needs has been launched.

FOUNTAINVILLE, PA — An online fundraiser has been launched for a Fountainville man suffering from a severe case of Crohn's Disease.
Steve Buczek is so sick that he's been unable to eat since July, his friend Greg Anderson says. Anderson has started a fundraiser for Buczek, whose only nourishment comes in the form of a fluid bag via IV.
His case is one of the worst his doctor has seen, Anderson explains in a video created for the GoFundMe.

"His doctors feel his only recourse requires a stem cell transplant, which is a very expensive procedure," Anderson said.
Buczek needs the procedure as soon as possible, but Medicare will only cover a percentage and Buczek is now facing medical bills for $200,000 or more to have the surgery completed.

He cannot get the procedure until he can prove he has the funds to cover his portion, Anderson said.
The GoFundMe for Buczek has a goal of $200,000. So far, in just nine days, more than $42,000 has been raised.
