Hidden Goods, False Name: Retail Theft Suspect Charged In Warrington

A Doylestown woman concealed merchandise in her cart and then left the store without paying, police said.

WARRINGTON TOWNSHIP, PA — A Doylestown woman has been charged with retail theft and receiving stolen merchandise following an incident at the Wegmans store.

Police responded to the store on Dec. 9 for the report of a retail theft. The store's loss prevention officer told police that a known woman from Doylestown was in the store, concealing merchandise under a coat in a shopping cart.

The 36-year-old woman then exited the store without paying for the concealed merchandise.

Police said when she was approached by store personnel, the woman provided a false name and date of birth.

The woman was placed under arrest and transported to the police station, where she was processed and released. She is charged with retail theft and receiving stolen merchandise.
