Man Arrested In Hospital Assault, Thefts Reported In Doylestown Twp.

During February, police made three arrests for DUI, one for illicit drugs, and obtained an arrest warrant in an auto theft case.

DOYLESTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — The Doylestown Township Police Department reported the following incidents and arrests during the month of February:

Assault

  • On Feb. 19, officers responded to an assault at Doylestown Hospital. An arrest warrant was obtained and a 43-year-old man was taken into custody.

  • On Feb. 7, a 24-year-old woman was charged with felony theft and related charges after she stole an acquaintance's car. The car was later recovered in Philadelphia and an arrest warrant is active for the suspect.

Theft

  • On Feb. 3, officers responded to the Central Bucks Family YMCA for thefts from vehicles while the victims were patronizing the gym. Through an investigation, a 37-year-old woman was identified as the suspect. She was taken into custody on an arrest warrant.
  • On Feb. 6, officers investigated the theft of a cord of firewood from the Fonthill Museum property. A 52-year-old man was identified and has since paid for the firewood he took.
  • On Feb. 15, officers responded to a home on Cherry Lane to investigate an unknown man entering unlocked vehicles. Officers identified the man and recovered personal property in the area. The 40-year-old man was charged with a summary offense.
  • On Feb. 16, officers responded to several homes near Pebble Ridge Road for thefts from unlocked vehicles overnight. The case is under investigation.
  • On Feb. 21, officers took a report of an attempted theft from an unlocked vehicle near Rolling Hills Boulevard. Police urge residents to always lock their cars, to take valuables inside, and to secure their garage door openers.
  • On Feb. 23, officers investigated a package theft from a residence on Bristol Road. The investigation is ongoing.
  • On Feb. 28, officers began investigating a retail theft that occurred at Weis Market. A handbasket and a 10 dozen eggs were taken by a man who is expected to turn himself in.

Fraud

  • There were eight reports of fraud during the month of February. Remember that no legitimate organization will ask for payment through gift cards or Bitcoin deposits. If unsure, call the police.

Criminal Mischief

  • On Feb. 25, officers began investigating instances where a male juvenile purposefully placed dry cat food into the public toilets at the Giant Food Store at 1661 S. Easton Road causing plumbing issues.

Narcotics Arrests

  • On Feb. 7, a 27-year-old woman was arrested following the discovery of illicit substances during a traffic stop on Route 611 Bypass.

Driving Under the Influence

  • On Feb. 10, a 48-year-old man was taken into custody for DUI after a vehicle accident on S. Easton Road at New Britain Road.
  • On Feb. 13, an 18-year-old woman was taken into custody for DUI after a vehicle accident on S. Easton Road at New Britain Road.
  • On Feb. 13, a 37-year-old man was taken into custody for DUI on Rodgers Road at Valley Drive.

Disorderly Conduct

  • There were four disorderly conduct incidents during the month of February. Three resulted in warnings.

During the month, the police department handled 937 calls for service. There were 31 traffic accidents, 93 traffic citations issued and 238 traffic warnings issued.
