Man Faces Multiple DUI Charges Following Hit-And-Run Crash In Warrington

Police located the striking vehicle in the parking lot of a township hotel with heavy front-end damage and a missing front bumper.

WARRINGTON TOWNSHIP, PA — An Ohio man is facing numerous charges stemming from a DUI hit-and-run crash at Easton Road and Titus Avenue.

On July 15, police responded to the report of a hit-and-run accident. Upon arrival, officers found a disabled vehicle in the intersection that had been struck by another car.

The striking vehicle, described as a silver Honda, had fled the scene.

A short time later, police said officers located the vehicle at the Hampton Inn & Suites. The Honda had heavy front-end damage, a missing front bumper, and several deployed airbags, police said.

A records check of the license plate identified the vehicle’s owner as a 29-year-old man from Niles, Ohio. While speaking to the man in his hotel room, police said he displayed signs of impairment, including glassy eyes, slurred speech, and difficulty maintaining balance.

When asked for identification, police said the man stumbled twice. When questioned about the accident, he said he did not know if he had been involved. And when asked if he had been drinking, he replied that he could not confirm or deny.

The victim reported minor injuries as a result of the accident. The victim was taken to the hotel where they positively identified the man as the driver of the striking vehicle. Police placed the man under arrest and charged him with an accident involving death or injury, three counts of DUI, and reckless driving. He was processed and later released.
