Live Foal Cam Update: Mares Give Birth To New Colts At Delaware Valley
New colt arrives on Live Foal Cam at Delaware Valley University; birth of second colt had to be moved off-camera due to complications.

DOYLESTOWN, PA — Delaware Valley University welcomed a new colt into the world on its Live Foal Cam, but a second birth had to be relocated off-camera to a clinic due to complications.
Here's an update on this year's Pennsylvania Horse Racing Association's Live Foal Cam, which has been following three expected mares at Delaware Valley University's Sydney J. Markovitz Equine Breeding Center in Bucks County.
Thistle Dhu was the first of the Foal Cam mares to give birth. Thistle was taken to a clinic out of an abundance of caution when she was checked by staff and a veterinarian.

Thistle was due March 19. She was in foal to Temporal Hanover, a Grand Circuit winner at both two and three.
After a tricky foaling, Thistle gave birth to a filly, whom the DelVal Equine students have named Wicklow. The pair is now home; Thistle recovered quickly and Wicklow is getting stronger every day, the PA Horse Racing Association reports.

Early on Thursday morning, March 13, the second Foal Cam mare, Ocean Love Potion, gave birth to Atlas, a colt sired by Green Manalishi, a champion son of the legendary 2009 Horse of the Year, Muscle Hill.

Still to give birth is "To The Good Life" who is due March 31 but is expected to give birth a little earlier than that. Stay tuned by clicking here.
The 15-year-old Standardbred Trotter is in foal to Volume Eight from Hanover Shoe Farms. This would be her seventh foal.
The live foal cam, presented by the Pennsylvania Horse Racing Association (PHRA), is designed to offer a unique look into foaling season in partnership with Delaware Valley University (DelVal) in Doylestown.
Through its foal cam, the coalition provides a live look at expectant mares through its live-stream ‘foal cams’ as they get ready to give birth to the next generation of champion racehorses.
Throughout the process, the university’s Equine Science and Management students have been working withfull-time faculty and a stable manager to receive hands-on experience in daily management of the facility. To support DelVal’s commitment to experiential learning, students are also able to actively assist with foaling and breeding procedures.
