Meet The Candidates For Doylestown Township Supervisor

There are two open seats up for election on the Doylestown Twp Board of Supervisors. Meet the four candidates on the ballot:

DOYLESTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — The race for two seats on the Doylestown Township Board of Supervisors is heating up, with four candidates vying for two spots.

Dan Wood and Connor O'Hanlon are running as the Democratic candidates. Nancy Santacecilia and incumbent Ken Snyder make up the Republican ticket. Both seats are six-year terms.

Wood is a lifelong Central Bucks resident and lives in the Woodridge neighborhood of Doylestown, according to his biography. He is a 2005 CB West graduate who was active in sports and as an Eagle Scout.

He went on to attend Pennsylvania State University, graduating in 2009. He currently works locally as a software engineer. He is a father of one and a member of the Public Water and Sewer Advisory Board.

O'Hanlon is also a Penn State graduate. He currently works as a real estate salesperson at J Carroll Molloy and is the conveyancer for South Main Closing Services. He also works as a strength coach and personal trainer at BucksFit gym where he trains individuals and school sports teams.

His experience as conveyancer "has been important as he works directly with the Doylestown Tax Collector, public and private providers of water and sewer, and local banks," he said in his online biography.

The pair is running on a platform that pledges transparency, pension reform, environmental protection, and support for LGBTQ+ rights.

"I am running for supervisor because I care deeply about the town that I was raised and where I plan on raising my family. Specifically as someone who is young, I will bring forth a new perspective that can propel us into a new age," O'Hanlon told the League of Women Voters of Bucks County in an online questionnaire.

Santacecilia, a Republican, is the school and community outreach director for the local organization CB Cares. She has also previously worked in community outreach and human resources at Wharton School, The Vanguard Group and Princeton University. She attended University of Pittsburgh, earning a BA in English.

According to information from the League of Women Voters of Bucks County, Santacecilia is a 25-year resident of Doylestown Township and the mother of three sons. She cites fiscal responsibility and economic prosperity as key issues facing the community, as well as maintaining services and recreation opportunities in the township.

Snyder has spent six years as a supervisor for Doylestown Township, plus three years on the township's Planning Commission.

On a professional level, he has more than 30 of experience years in the pharmaceutical industry, including in major focus process improvement, project management and change management, his online biography said.

He told The League of Women Voters Doylestown Township faces two main problems: limited revenue growth and completion of large, required expenditure projects.

He said his experience and knowledge of township matters gives him the upper hand. "I look forward to future projects and being a champion to improve resident engagement which is so important for future understanding and growth," he said in the online questionnaire.
