The program is aimed at bringing essential License To Carry Firearms application services to local communities.

DOYLESTOWN, PA – The Bucks County Sheriff's Office is enhancing accessibility for residents seeking to obtain their License to Carry Firearms (LTCF) with the launch of a second Mobile Gun Permit Unit and the expansion of its operational presence across the county. The expansion includes the addition of new host locations, including Survival Trail in Pipersville, the Quakertown Farmers Market, and Overwatch Armaments in Dublin.

The Mobile Gun Permit Unit program, initially launched in 2022 as a first-of-its-kind initiative of Sheriff Harran, was established to bring essential LTCF application services directly into local communities, offering a convenient alternative to visiting the Sheriff's physical offices. The Bucks County Sheriff's Office processed over 12,000 gun permits for county residents in 2024. In the first quarter of 2025 alone, nearly 10 percent of all permits were processed by the Mobile Gun Permit Unit, underscoring the need for expanded outreach services.

"We are committed to upholding the Second Amendment rights of law-abiding citizens in Bucks County while also prioritizing public safety," said Sheriff Fred Harran. "The success of our initial Mobile Gun Permit Unit demonstrated a clear need for more accessible application services. By launching a second unit and partnering with additional locations throughout the county, we are making it easier than ever for residents to complete the necessary process to obtain their License to Carry."
