Overnight Winter Weather Advisory Issued In Parts Of Eastern PA

Some parts of Eastern Pennsylvania will be under a Winter Weather Advisory Wednesday night through Thursday morning due to expected freezing rain.

Parts of Upper Bucks County as well as Lehigh, Northampton and other counties to the north will be under the advisory. Total ice accumulations of around a tenth of an inch are anticipated in the advisory area, which includes areas north of Ottsville.

The Winter Weather Advisory goes from 8 p.m. Wednesday through 10 a.m. Thursday.

Difficult travel conditions are possible in the advisory area, including along I-78, forecasters warn. "The hazardous conditions could impact the morning commute," the National Weather Service said.

Closer to Philadelphia, where temperatures will be above freezing, we can expect mainly rain — and a lot of it at times. Rain is in the local forecast through Friday, and it may be particularly heavy Thursday night, forecasters say.

The National Weather Service has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook across the Philadelphia region, saying heavy rain through Friday morning could lead to localized flooding.

Today: A slight chance of rain before noon, then a slight chance of rain after 5 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 42. North wind 6 to 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.

Tonight: Rain, mainly after 9pm. Low around 33. East wind 5 to 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100 percent. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Thursday: Rain. High near 51. Northeast wind 5 to 7 mph becoming calm in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 90 percent. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Thursday Night: Rain. The rain could be heavy at times. Low around 45. Calm wind becoming east 5 to 7 mph after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 100 percent. New precipitation amounts between 1 and 2 inches possible.

Friday: Rain before 1 p.m. High near 49. Southeast wind 7 to 12 mph becoming west 13 to 18 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 29 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90 percent. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Friday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 27.

Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 38.
