PENNSYLVANIA — Pennsylvania has made some additional changes to its travel quarantine list, removing one state.

Pennsylvanians who travel to Delaware no longer need to self-quarantine, Gov. Tom Wolf announced Friday.

The travel quarantine list now includes 18 states that are currently experiencing increasing levels of COVID-19.

Travelers who visit the following states should quarantine for 14 days upon return, Pennsylvania health officials say:

  • Arizona
  • Arkansas
  • California
  • Florida
  • Georgia
  • Idaho
  • Iowa
  • Kansas
  • Louisiana
  • Mississippi
  • Nevada
  • North Carolina
  • Oklahoma
  • South Carolina
  • Tennessee
  • Texas
  • Utah

Also Friday, the state added 1,032 additional positive cases of COVID-19, bringing its total to 99,478 since the start of the pandemic. There were 19 new deaths, bringing the death toll to 6,992.

Among the places with the most cases include Philadelphia, which has reported more than 23,500 cases since the onset of the pandemic, and Montgomery County, where there have been more than 9,000 cases.

"As the state has put in place new mitigation efforts to offset recent case increases, we must renew our commitment to protecting against COVID-19 by wearing a mask, practicing social distancing and following the requirements set forth in the orders for bars and restaurants, gatherings and telework," Secretary of Health Dr. Rachel Levine said in a news release.

Across the nation, the virus continues to escalate in hot spots.

The United States shattered its single-day record for new cases Thursday with more than 75,600 confirmed new infections, according to a New York Times database. This was the 11th time in the past month the record was broken.

As of Friday morning, the U.S. was approaching 3.6 million confirmed cases and had surpassed 138,300 deaths, according to a Johns Hopkins University tally.
