Pancake Breakfast To Benefit Doylestown Fire Company

DOYLESTOWN, PA — The Doylestown Fire Company No. 1 will he firing up the griddles as it gets ready for its 61st annual pancake breakfast.

The fundraiser, organized by the company’s auxiliary, will take place at the fire hall at 68 Shewell Avenue on Saturday, March 15 from 6:30 a.m. to noon.

The cost is $10 for adults, $5 for children 6 to 12, and free for children 6 and under.

Running in conjunction with the breakfast is a fundraising raffle that will feature Phillies tickets, a battery operated string trimmer from Moyer’s Lawn Equipment, introductory flight lessons from Leading Edge, swag apparel from the Central Bucks Regional Police Department, a gift card from Ventresca’s Ltd. Men’s Store, car detail certificate from the Thompson Organization, and local restaurant and bakery gift cards.

This year’s breakfast is expected to serve more than 2,000 hungry people.

The breakfast not only delivers a delicious pancake meal and raises funds for the fire company, it’s also one of the biggest social events of the year in Doylestown.

So how many pancakes do they typically go through during one of their breakfasts? Any guesses?

Try between between 4,000 and 4500 pancakes along with a corresponding number of sausage links fresh from the Hatfield plant in nearby Montgomery County.

The auxiliary organizes the breakfast, but it takes the entire Fire Company to make it happen, from the volunteers flipping the pancakes to grilling the sausage, set up and take down, and cleaning the grills at the end of the breakfast.
