Peddler's Village Festival Guide For 2020

LAHASKA, PA — Peddler's Village, the outdoor shopping village that's the site of many community events throughout the year, has announced its festival lineup for 2020. The village will again be hosting several popular events, including the Strawberry Festival, the scarecrows display, and of course, the Grand Illumination.

Here's a look at the festival dates so you can mark your calendars in advance. Additional details are available at the Peddler's Village website.

FEBRUARY

• Share the Love Weekend (Feb. 13-16) – A Valentine’s Day weekend featuring shop sales, special restaurant menus, and three murder mystery dinner shows featuring Murder at the Moulin.
• Wedding Show (Feb. 23) – An afternoon of wedding ideas presented by the Village event team and local wedding vendors.

APRIL

• Peeps in the Village (April 8-19) – View colorful Peeps —a Pennsylvania-produced specialty– displayed in not-so-natural but very creative habitats. Prizes awarded for best entries.
• Spring FunFest (April 18, 19) – The weekend will feature live music, outdoor food and beverages, a sidewalk sale, character appearances, and a kids’ fun area.

MAY

• Strawberry Festival (May 16, 17) – Taste a variety of strawberry treats, take home fresh strawberries, and enjoy live entertainment, hearty food, children’s activities, pie-eating contests, and 80 artisans.

JUNE

• Village Food Trucks (June 11) (Additional events planned on July 16, Aug. 13, Sept. 17 and Oct. 15 ) - An evening with the region’s favorite food trucks and local entertainment.
• Summer Block Party (June 13, 14) – Travel through the Village neighborhoods to experience a range of live entertainment, food and beverages, and activities for visitors of all ages.

JULY

• Red, White, & Blue BBQ Bash (July 4) - A classic all-American barbecue picnic with live music and family activities.
• Bluegrass & Blueberries Festival (July 18, 19) - A weekend full of blueberry treats and bluegrass and country music. Live entertainment, food, and children’s activities.

AUGUST

• Peach Festival & Sidewalk Sale (Aug. 8, 9) - The Village will feature peach treats, live entertainment, food, children’s activities, and sizzling summer savings in every shop.

SEPTEMBER

• Scarecrows in the Village (Sept. 7-Oct. 25) – Scores of cleverly created scarecrows are displayed outdoors, and visitors vote for their favorites.
• Scarecrow Festival (Sept. 12, 13) Stroll among the scarecrows on display throughout the Village, sign up for scarecrow-making workshops, and enjoy live entertainment, food, and children’s activities.
• Autumn Wedding Show (Sept. 20) - An afternoon of wedding ideas presented by the Village event team and local wedding vendors.

OCTOBER

• OctoberFeast (Oct. 17, 18) – A Village spin on the traditional German festival with a beer garden, wine and spirits, food specialties, live music, and family activities.
• Apple Festival (Nov. 7, 8) - Enjoy apple treats and take home a bushel fresh from the orchard! Live entertainment, food, children’s activities, pie-eating contests, and artisans.

NOVEMBER

• Kickoff to the Holidays (Nov. 13) - Festive fun, caroling and a holiday party led by Mrs. Claus
• Grand Illumination Celebration (Nov. 20) - The Village lights up at 6:15 p.m. sharp with Santa and his helpers during an evening of local entertainment, complimentary hot cider, and marshmallow roasting.
• Gingerbread House Competition and Display (Nov. 20 - Jan. 2) Creative gingerbread entries, including contest winners, are on public display in the Gazebo.

DECEMBER

• Christmas Festival (Dec.5, 6) – Watch Santa’s Christmas Parade at 1:30 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday, and enjoy live entertainment, food, and holiday shopping throughout the weekend.
