21-Year-Old In Custody Following Doylestown Shooting, Standoff
A 21-year-old man is in custody following a shooting and standoff that prompted a shelter-in-place in Doylestown on Thursday.
DOYLESTOWN, PA — A 21-year-old man is in custody after a shooting and standoff that prompted a shelter-in-place and required the response of numerous Central Bucks-area police departments Thursday afternoon.
No injuries were reported in conjunction with the incident, which unfolded just after 3:45 p.m. in the 50 block of Belmont Square.
Central Bucks Regional Police responded after reports of continuous gunfire in the area. When officers arrived, a standoff situation ensued and "numerous" shots were fired from inside the residence, police said.

The standoff ended just after 5:30 p.m. A 21-year-old man who lives at the home surrendered and was taken into custody. He has been identified as Christopher Dalrymple.
Residents in the area of Belmont Square, as well as on Court and East streets, were told to shelter-in-place. Some had already been evacuated.

At nearby Linden Elementary, students in the after-school program remained with staff and the principal.
All students at the school had been safely dismissed at 3:45 p.m., the Central Bucks School District said. Upon learning of the shelter-in-place "Linden immediately initiated lockdown procedures, securing students who remained at the school for the after-school program," District officials said.
Staff and Linden Principal Michael Testani remained at the school with the students until all were safely reunited with their families, the district said. A law enforcement officer was also present at the school.
Linden's third grade "Spotlight on Music" concert, scheduled for Thursday, was canceled.
