Police Investigate Hit-And-Run That Killed Dog

A Warrington organization is offering a reward for information about a hit-and-run crash that killed a family's dog last month.

HILLTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — A local organization is offering a reward for information about a hit-and-run crash that killed a family's dog last month in Hilltown Township.

Animal Lifeline of Warrington is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the identification of the driver that hit Sadie, a 6-year-old white sheltie/collie mix, on Hilltown Pike.

According to police, Sadie was hit around 8 p.m. on Nov. 13 after she slipped out of her collar and ran towards Hilltown Pike near Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church.

Two people immediately went after her and stopped traffic on Hilltown Pike in both directions, police said. As they were about get Sadie out of the middle of the road, a car going south on Hilltown Pike hit her. Sadie was rushed to a local animal hospital, but died from internal injuries.

The driver who struck the animal is described as a middle aged man with dark and gray hair. He was operating a black mid-sized sedan.

Police ask anyone with information about the driver’s identity or the vehicle’s license plate to submit a tip through the Hilltown Township Crimewatch page.
