Primary Election Day In The Doylestown Area: Who's On The Ballot

Tuesday, May 20 is Primary Election Day in Pennsylvania. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

DOYLESTOWN, PA — May 20 is Primary Election Day across Pennsylvania.

In the Doylestown area, voters will weigh in on the race for Central Bucks School Board and a contested district justice race in Buckingham.

Central Bucks School Board

In the race for Central Bucks School Board, eight candidates will be vying for four open seats in three of the district's regions as a new voting district realignment begins to take shape.

In Region 2, voters will pick their candidates for one open four-year seat on the board.

Two candidates - Republican Andrew Miller and Democrat Amanda O'Connor - are vying for the open seat on the board. The candidates have cross-filed, meaning their names will appear on both ballots on Tuesday.

Region 2 includes Buckingham Township Lower 1, Doylestown Borough 3-1 and 3-2, Doylestown Township 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7 and 8, New Britain Township East 1, New Britain Borough and Warwick Township 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5.

In Region 3, voters will select candidates for one two-year seat and two four-year seats on the Central Bucks School Board. Region 3 includes all of Warrington Township, Chalfont Borough and part of New Britain Township.

Running for the two-year seat are Democrat David Comalli and Republican Brenda Bagonis. Both candidates have cross-filed, meaning their names will appear on both ballots on Tuesday.

Running for the two open four-year seats are Democrats Katrina O. Filiatrault and Daniel Kimicata and Republicans Elizabeth Betty Santoro and Roman Szewczuk. The candidates are cross-filed, meaning their names will appear on both the Republican and Democratic ballots.

Other Races

In another contested race on Tuesday, voters in Buckingham Township will pick their candidate for District Judge from a field of three candidates.

Three of the candidates - Sandra Souder, Timothy Barton and Heather Hines - are running on the Democratic ballot. Only Hines has cross-filed and will also be appearing on the Republican ballot.

Maggie Snow, the current district judge, is not seeking re-election to the court, which covers Buckingham Township, Solebury Township and New Hope Borough.
