Retail Theft Suspect Skips Preliminary Hearing: Warrington Police Report

WARRINGTON, PA — Charges against a 31-year-old Philadelphia man accused of retail theft have been held over to the Bucks County Court of Common Pleas after he failed to show up for his preliminary hearing. Police responded to Wegmans for the report of a retail theft that occurred on September 15. Loss prevention reported that a man left the store without paying for expensive seafood, a wheeled caddy bag, and additional merchandise. The total value of the stolen items was $589.03. The man is charged with retail theft and receiving stolen merchandise.
Registration Check Leads to Arrest of Wanted Man
A registration check of a vehicle parked at the Wawa store on Easton Road led to the arrest of a 43-year-old man on an arrest warrant out of Philadelphia. After speaking with the driver, officers placed the 43-year-old man under arrest. During a subsequent search, officers discovered narcotics and drug paraphernalia. The driver was transported to the police station for processing and later sent to the Bucks County Correctional Facility. He is charged with possession of a controlled substance and prohibited acts.
