DOYLESTOWN, PA — This week's road construction schedule includes underground utility work in Doylestown Borough, base repair work on Dark Hollow Road in Bedminster and Tinicum and a bridge two-week detour at the New Hope-Lambertville Free Bridge.

Underground Utility Work In Doylestown

  • Beginning on Monday evening, Sept. 15, PECO will be performing underground utility work in the area of E. Court Street and N. Main Street in Doylestown Borough. E. Court Street will be closed overnight to thru-traffic between Broad Street and Main Street. N. Main Street will remain open, but limited to one lane near the Bucks County Administration Building. Traffic control flaggers will be on-site, but drivers are encouraged to avoid the area if possible. Overnight work is scheduled nightly from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. from Monday, Sept. 15 to Friday, Sep. 19. Motorists are asked to plan ahead and consider alternate routes.

Base Repair On Dark Hollow Road

  • The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that base repair operations will continue next week on Dark Hollow Road in Tinicum and Bedminster townships. Between Monday, Sept. 15 and Friday, Oct. 10 from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., Dark Hollow Road will be closed and detoured between Route 413 (Durham Road) and Route 32 (River Road). During the closure, motorists will be directed to use Route 413 (Durham Road), Stump Road, Tohickon Hill Road, and Route 32 (River Road). Local access will be maintained at all times. Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling near the work area because backups and delays will occur.

New Hope-Lambertville Bridge Detour

  • The New Hope-Lambertville Toll-Supported Bridge is scheduled to close on Monday, Sept. 15 beginning at 6 a.m. to NJ-bound traffic. The weekday daytime closure is expected to last for up to two weeks. The bridge’s access lane from the Pennsylvania side will be barricaded at the intersection of Main Street (Route 32) and East Bridge Street (Route 179) in downtown New Hope. Signage will direct affected motorists to proceed north along Main Street (Route 32) to the nearby New Hope-Lambertville (Route 202) Toll Bridge for travel into New Jersey. The Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission is urging affected job commuters to plan for the temporary detour and allow additional time to reach their destinations on Monday morning. The detour of NJ-bound traffic off the bridge is expected to be in effect for 12 hours (6 a.m. to 6 p.m.) on weekdays only for two weeks, ending Sept. 26.
