EASTERN PENNSYLVANIA– The rainy mess that has descended upon Eastern Pennsylvania is supposed to get worse, as winter weather is predicted to hit the region Wednesday. The National Weather Service said the Philadelphia region could see as much as three inches of snow by the end of winter weather event.
The snow is possible Wednesday morning. The commute could be slick, with much of the Philadelphia region getting at least a wintry mix or rain, according to forecasters for the National Weather Service.
A drastic cool down is predicted between Tuesday and Wednesday. How much snow accumulates will depend on how far temperatures plummet.

Along the I-95 corridor, the drive home Tuesday is likely to be wet, but the Wednesday morning commute could be wintry, according to AccuWeather.
Exactly how much snow is able to accumulate on roads is dependent on how quickly they cool and the intensity of snowfall. Most road surfaces will have had a chance to warm up through Tuesday, along with the surge of warmer air.
Some of the snow is likely to melt as it falls on warmer surfaces, but elevated surfaces such as cars, lawns, decks, porches, bridges and overpasses are likely to become snow-covered much faster than city streets and main highways, AccuWeather forecasters say.
