Volunteer service organization Soroptimist International of Indian Rock (SIIR) has opened the applications for its scholarship grants for young women.

SIIR provides scholarships with the maximum grant being $5,000. It can be used for expenses incurred; i.e. tuition, books, supplies, room and board. Payment of the scholarship is made directly to the school that the recipient will be attending.

The scholarship is presented each year to deserving young women graduating from high school who have been accepted into a 2-year OR 4-year college/university OR have been accepted into a post-secondary licensing/certification program to fulfill their educational goals. In 2025, SIIR scholarships were presented to 3 young women. The SIIR scholarships consider applicants based on a combination of financial need, academic performance, and involvement in extracurricular activities, community volunteer work, and/or work-employment. The application deadline is April 21, 2026.
