Starbucks Says It Supports Doylestown Park Concept
Starbucks says it "fully intends" to support a plan to transform the seven parking spaces in front of the borough coffee shop into a park.

DOYLESTOWN, PA — Starbucks says it "fully intends" to support a plan to transform a parking area in front of the borough coffee shop into a public park.
The plan, which was made public this week in a segment on FOX29, would create a village green on the seven parking spaces in front of the shop, which is located at State and Main streets in Doylestown Borough.
Discussions between the property owner and Starbucks are ongoing. In the meantime, Starbucks has issued a statement in support of the concept.

"We are grateful to have been a member of the Doylestown community for more than two decades and take great pride in contributing to the town’s development," Starbucks spokeswoman Sara Autio said in a statement to Patch. "We fully intend on supporting this green space."
The Doylestown Borough Council would have to approve any agreement with the property owner, and the design of any park, Borough Manager John Davis said.

He noted at this point, the borough has not been directly involved in the discussions between Starbucks and the property owner but they have stated support for the concept.
The building owner, Richard Lyons, told The Intelligencer he is planning to give the building a "facelift" in the spring. He said the seven spots out front that Starbucks leases would be swapped for those on the side of the building.
No timeline for the village green project has been released.
