State Names New Assistant Park Manager At Nockamixon

BUCKS COUNTY, PA — Liam Goldbach has been appointed by the state Department of Conservation and Natural Resources as the new assistant manager at Nockamixon State Park in Upper Bucks County.

“Liam is a great communicator and possesses the skills to excel in his new role,” said Secretary Cindy Dunn. “We are excited to learn from his passion and commitment to improving the visitor experience at one of our most popular parks in Bucks County.”

Goldbach assists oversight at the 5,286-acre park, which features Tohickon Creek, Three Mile Run, and Haycock Run that all feed the 1,450-acre Lake Nockamixon. These water features make Nockamixon a destination for boaters, anglers, and birders taking in migrating waterfowl. Popular park activities include picnicking, swimming in the pool, hiking, biking, disc golfing, hunting, fishing, and boating.

“I proudly wear the state park uniform and understand my role to help visitors have a great time outdoors,” Goldbach said. “I am grateful for the opportunity to lead at this beautiful park and to work with the incredibly dedicated staff who make this place so special.”

Goldbach is a Plain Grove, Lawrence County native who holds a bachelor’s degree in Park and Resource Management from Slippery Rock University. He began his career with DCNR as a park manager trainee, spending time in the eastern region of state parks before being assigned to Big Elk Creek State Park in Chester County.

Goldbach enjoys most outdoor activities, including hunting, fly fishing, hiking, cross country skiing, and kayaking. When he isn’t working, he spends time with his girlfriend, Lucia, and German Shepherd, Zasha.
