Town and Country Players is proud to present Titanic the Musical, a sweeping and poignant retelling of the tragic maiden voyage of the RMS Titanic.

Performances will run from Friday, July 11th, through July 26th, promising an unforgettable journey through history, music, and human resilience. Titanic the Musical features a stunning score by Maury Yeston and a compelling book by Peter Stone. Town and Country Players’ production brings together a diverse cast of local talent to portray the real-life passengers and crew whose lives were forever changed on that fateful night in April 1912.

Directed by Brad Ogden and produced by Nancy Ridgeway, Ogden notes that Titanic the Musical depicts a tragedy that has stirred imaginations for more than a century, but it also tells a very timely story of class, social stratification, and capitalist greed. Beneath all of that, though, it is about a group of people having the time of their lives before catastrophe strikes.”

Highlights of the production include breathtaking ensemble numbers, historically inspired costumes, and set design that transports audiences from the bustling docks of Southampton to the grandeur of the Titanic herself.

While this show dissects history, the ensemble version does so in a theatrical way. “Most of the actors are playing multiple characters. It's a different approach to telling this story — one that doesn't require special effects, blockbuster budgets, or the presence of any actual water, but celebrates the unifying power of hope through real, human stories and a soul-stirring score,” says Ogden.

Titanic the Musical presents an opportunity to reflect on a historical moment that remains resonant more than a century later. Ogden adds, “I cannot wait for audiences to experience the fruits of this collaboration of truly incredible artists as they share a profoundly moving, musical take on this ever-fascinating historical event (that has absolutely nothing to do with Jack, Rose, or Celine Dion).” Join us for this impactful production brought to life by local artists and creators.
