Verbal Fight Over Parking Space Turns Physical: Plumstead Crime Report
Police are also investigating a road rage incident in the township in which the driver reports being followed and threatened.
PLUMSTEAD TOWNSHIP, PA — The Plumstead Township Police Department reported the following incidents between May 21 and May 25:
May 21
- At 11:43 a.m., officers responded to a suspicious call on Rebecca Fell Drive. The complainant reported receiving a call from an unknown individual claiming to be from the Sheriff's Office, stating she failed to respond to jury duty. The caller attempted to obtain her personal information, but the complainant did not provide any details.
- At 12:20 p.m., a resident reported a suspicious phone call from an unknown female claiming to be from Amazon, stating that fraudulent accounts were opened in her name. The complainant did not provide any information and was advised to check her accounts. She was provided with an Identity Theft packet.
- At 4:43 p.m., a Plumstead resident reported a verbal altercation over a parking space that turned physical. The complainant did not want to press charges but wanted the incident documented.

- At 3:44 p.m., officers received a report of a road rage incident. The complainant reported being followed and threatened by another driver, capturing the incident on his dash cam. Officers are currently investigating the incident and attempting to make contact with the other party involved.

The department has received several reports of suspicious phone calls and scams targeting residents. These scams often involve unknown individuals posing as officials or representatives from reputable companies, attempting to obtain personal information or money from victims. In response to these incidents, the department reminds the public to remain vigilant and take steps to protect themselves from these types of scams:

- Be cautious of unsolicited calls or messages asking for personal information or payment.
- Verify the identity of the caller or sender before providing any information.
- Never give out personal information, such as social security numbers, credit card numbers, or bank account information, to unknown individuals.
In addition, police recommend taking proactive steps to protect identity and financial information, such as: Monitoring your bank and credit card statements regularly for any suspicious activity; freezing credit reports to prevent unauthorized access; and using strong passwords and two-factor authentication for online accounts.
