Widespread power outages have been reported in the Doylestown area and are resulting in malfunctioning traffic signals.
DOYLESTOWN, PA — Widespread power outages have been reported in the Doylestown area and are resulting in malfunctioning traffic signals.
As of 12:30 p.m. PECO is reporting more than 1,600 people in the Doylestown and New Britain area are without power.
"We are working to get the traffic signals operational. In the meantime, if you notice a traffic signal not working, come to a complete stop and treat the intersection as if it had a stop sign," police said.

The cause of the outage was not immediately available. A wind advisory is in place through 7 p.m. Thursday. Winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts of 40 to 50 mph are expected.
PECO estimates power will be back on by 2 p.m.
