• Tragedy averted after teens fall through ice into Susquehanna River in South Williamsport (sungazette.com) — Duboistown firefighters were among several departments that rushed to South Williamsport after three local teens fell through thin ice on the Susquehanna River near Sylvan Dell Road. Two boys had to be pulled from the frigid water with ropes and taken to UPMC Williamsport, prompting officials to warn residents that ice must be at least four inches thick to safely support a person.
