Acclaimed Flutist to Perform in Easton

Gary Schocker to sign CDs and perform Sunday at Mercantile Home.

Acclaimed flute player Gary Schocker will perform and hold a CD release party Sunday at Mercantile Home in downtown Easton.

The event, part of the Mercantile Distinctive Music Series, will feature Schocker performing a short set, and then signing “A Harp for Christmas," a CD with his arrangements.

Schocker debuted with the New York Philharmonic at 15, and has written the musicals Far from the Madding Crowd and The Awakening. He lives and works in Easton and New York.

Past performers at Mercantile Home have included Walter Parks, Judy Collins, Kishi Bashi, Sonya Kitchell and the Brooklyn Strings,  Kenny White,  Decembersongs, and Hedda Lettuce.
