New Jersey Man Found Dead Near Easton Strip Mall

Man's body found by pedestrian along Lehigh River Monday, newspaper reports.

A New Jersey man was found dead behind a downtown Easton strip mall Monday morning, according to published reports.

Northampton County Coroner Zachary Lysek identified the man as Joseph Okenka, 46, of Phillipsburg, the Morning Call reported.

The Express-Times reported Okenka's body was found by a man walking along the Lehigh River behind the McDonald's shopping center on Larry Holmes Drive.

Easton police and Lysek were not immediately available for comment.

This is the second body found in the area in the last month. In November, Emery Clark, 53, was found dead under the train trestle near the South Side.
