Bomb Squad Responds After 2 Grenades Found In Williams Twp Home

Two grenades were discovered in a Williams Township home on Saturday, the Pennsylvania State Police reported.

WILLIAMS TOWNSHIP, PA — Two grenades were discovered in a Williams Township home on Saturday, May 20, the Pennsylvania State Police reported.

According to authorities, troopers from PSP Belfast received a report regarding a grenade found inside a residence on Flafair Drive at approximately 10:45 a.m. Law enforcement officials arrived at the scene to investigate. During their search, a second grenade was also located within the residence. The Bethlehem Bomb Squad was activated and dispatched to the residence.

Both items were determined to be inert, meaning they were non-functional and posed no immediate threat. State police said there was no danger to the public.

There were no injuries reported throughout the course of the investigation. There are no pending charges related to this incident.

According to a report from PennLive, the home was vacant at the time of the discovery. A person who had once lived at the home collected military memorabilia, that report said.
