Colombian Film, George Burns Play This Week in Easton

A look at what's happening this week in Easton.

Hello everyone. The new week is upon us, so let's see what's happening in Easton over the next few days.

1. Actor Alan Safier plays George Burns in the Tony-nominated one-man show Say Goodnight Gracie, Friday at 7:30 p.m. at the State Theatre.

2. The Easton Area Public Library will screen the Colombian film La Sigra Monday at 7 p.m. in the Catherine Drake meeting room.

3. City council has the week off, but several other city governmental bodies meet this week: the Historic District Commission Monday at 5:30 p.m., the Recreation Board Tuesday at 7 p.m., the Redevelopment Authority Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. and the Parking Authority Thursday at 6 p.m. All meetings are held at city hall.

4. Dance Plus, Inc., at 42 S. 3rd St., begins a six week swing dancing course starting Thursday at 7 p.m. Contact the studio at www.danceplusinc.com or 484-619-0532 for more information.

5. Lafayette College presents the David L. Sr. and Helen J. Temple Visiting Lecture by playwright and performer John Dayo Aliya at 4 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 17 in Hugel Science Center, room 100.
