Former Pa. cop goes to prison for sexually assaulting middle school student (pennlive.com) — A former Bethlehem school resource officer who lives in Easton has been sentenced to 10 to 20 years in state prison and deemed a sexually violent predator for sexually assaulting a middle school student. Prosecutors say he admitted to multiple assaults and inappropriate communications, while his attorney is pursuing post-sentence efforts to withdraw the earlier guilty plea and seek a trial.
   

2. ‘It's a life changer': Easton veteran's transitional home gets new HVAC (wfmz.com) — An Easton transitional home for veterans on North 11th Street just received a free new heating system, which residents are calling a Christmas miracle. The nonprofit Battle Borne runs the Barracks program there, helping formerly unhoused veterans stabilize, find work, and move toward permanent housing and independence.

Marjorie Annette Stoody, 81, of Easton (Obituary Brought to You by Heintzelman Funeral Home) (sauconsource.com) — Easton is mourning 81-year-old resident Marjorie Annette Stoody, an educator who retired to the city and stayed active with the American Association of University Women, the Arts Community of Easton, and the Jane Moyer Library. She is remembered by children, grandchildren, siblings, and her partner, with services planned in Colorado and suggested memorial donations to several organizations she loved.
   

4. Bucks County-Based Pennsylvania Voters for Animals Seeks to End Animal Cruelty (buckscountybeacon.com) — Easton residents should know their city now has the state’s most comprehensive ban on live animal sales in pet stores, allowing only fish and rescue adoptions.
