Easton Administrators, Bus Drivers Get Raises
Easton Area School Board approves 3.5 to 4 percent raises for 65 workers.

The Easton Area School Board has approved raises for a group of school administrators, principals and other supervisors.
The agreement, approved by the board Tuesday night, covers principals, assistant principals and grade level principals, as well as special education supervisors.
Employees making more than $60,000 a year will get a 3.5 percent raise. Those making under $60,000 will receive four percent raise.Â
Board member Robert Moskaitis voted against the increase, which he said should have been merit-based, rather than an across the board raise.Â
“I do not see that giving a flat salary increase contributes to excellence in education," he said.
Also Tuesday, the board approved a new three year contract for district bus drivers that gives them a 1.4 percent raise, and a two percent raise for district chief operating officer Michael Simonetta.Find out what's happening in Eastonfor free with the latest updates from Patch.
