Easton Farmers Market Opens For Season

Mayor says city heading 'back to our roots' with addition of second market day.

The calendar may say "spring," but Saturday was the essentially the start of Easton's summer.

The Easton Farmers' Market's opening day typically marks the start of the city's "season," Mayor Sal Panto told market visitors Saturday.

Countless people crowded Centre Square to shop, eat and socialize. And starting next month, they'll be able to do so twice a week, as the market begins its Wednesday hours.

"We're going back to our roots," Panto said, referring to the days when the market operated multiple times a week.

The market operates Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. May through November. Wednesday hours will be 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. June through September.
