Easton Fire Victims' Memorial Scheduled

All three victims of deadly Spring Garden Street blaze will be remembered at Green Pastures Church.

A memorial service for the victims of one of the deadliest fires in Easton's recent history has been scheduled for Friday evening.

The fire at 724 Spring Garden St. early Monday killed Joy Lozier, 24, her son Makai Peters, 4, and James Strickland 25.

All three will be remembered at a service Friday at 6 p.m. at Green Pastures Community Church, 28 N. 10th St., according to the Ashton Funeral Home, which is handling arrangements.

Easton Fire Chief John Bast has said the cause of the fire will remain undetermined, but does not appear suspicious. He said Tuesday the deaths could have been prevented if the home had working smoke alarms.
