Easton Police Charge Man With Robbery, Assault

An Allentown man who was arrested Saturday is accused of a September mugging in which he brandished a gun and took a cell phone and cash from his victim, according to court records.

Sean Lee Bookman, 24, of 1444 Hamilton St., who also goes by the street name “Red,” allegedly pointed the gun at a man near the intersection of Seventh and Spring Garden streets in Easton a little after 10:30 p.m. on Sept. 18, a Wednesday, according to an arrest affidavit.

Bookman got his victim’s Samsung Galaxy cell phone and $240 cash. The victim said he then ran from the scene and escaped to his sister’s house on Lehigh Street. Bookman had given chase, police said.

On Friday, the victim picked Bookman’s picture from a photo lineup and Bookman was arrested on Saturday.

He was charged with robbery, criminal conspiracy, aggravated assault, theft and recklessly endangering another person. He was arraigned before on-duty District Judge Roy Manwaring and committed to Northampton County Prison in lieu of $20,000 bail.
