Police Harassment Lawsuit Dismissed

A federal judge has thrown out a lawsuit filed by an Easton man who claimed a police raid at his South Side home violated his civil rights and endangered his daughter.

Last year, Julius Lockhart sued the city, its police chief and two officers over the raid in Sept. 2009.

But Judge Lawrence Stengel found there was enough evidence for police to raid Lockhart's home, the Express-Times reported.

The suit said Lockhart's daughter still suffers from "nightmares, post traumatic stress, fear of the dark, loud noises and police officers." The raid at 329 Folk St. turned up drug paraphernalia, and Lockhart pleaded guilty.

Lockhart claimed police began harassing him in 2009 after he helped his mother sue the city after her car was wrongfully seized and damaged.
